Terms of service

Last updated:

Draft — pending legal review. Not yet binding.

These terms apply to the use of the Patchtime app on all platforms and to Patchtime Pro. The provider is Ahrbit UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“we”); full details are listed in our imprint.

1. What Patchtime is — and what it isn’t

Patchtime helps you organize eye-patch schedules: it shows which eye is due on a given day and for how long, offers a timer and reminders, and keeps a record of confirmed and skipped days.

Patchtime is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not create, suggest or change patch plans. All plans are entered by you, based on the instructions of your eye care professional. Patchtime is no substitute for professional advice. If you have questions about a plan, please contact your eye care professional.

2. Using Patchtime

You can use Patchtime without an account; your data is then stored only on your device. To sync between devices or share with others, you need a free account. You are responsible for keeping your login details and any app lock PIN confidential.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Without an account, you can use Patchtime at any age.

3. Your content

You remain responsible for the content you enter, including data about other people. Only enter and share data about another person if you are authorized to do so. When you share a person, you decide who gets access and with which permissions, and you can remove access at any time.

4. Patchtime Pro

Patchtime Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks additional features, such as sharing a person with others. It is not a subscription. Pro is purchased through the respective app store and is tied to your Patchtime account. The payment and any refunds are handled by the app store according to its terms.

We may develop Pro further over time. Features you have purchased will remain available for as long as we operate Patchtime.

5. Availability

We work hard to keep Patchtime reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of online features such as sync and sharing. The offline mode works without our servers. Please don’t rely on Patchtime as your only reminder for time-critical tasks — device settings (such as battery optimization or muted notifications) can prevent reminders from being delivered.

6. Fair use

Please don’t misuse Patchtime — for example by attempting to access other users’ data, disrupting the service or using it for unlawful purposes. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence, we are only liable for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, our liability is excluded.

8. Ending use

You can stop using Patchtime at any time. To delete your account, simply write to us at hello@patchtime.app. Deleting your account deletes the data stored with us (see our privacy policy). If we ever discontinue Patchtime, we will inform you in good time so you can export or keep your records.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app or legal requirements change. We will inform you of material changes in advance. If you continue to use Patchtime after the change takes effect, the updated terms apply.

10. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
